Digital Sherpas
Human history is chock-full of various individual accomplishments that weren’t really individual accomplishments, but rather the result of hero protagonists leaning on the drive, dedication, support and verve of assorted sidekicks.
Sidekicks who, by design, receive an aside, perhaps a mention, in the story. This allows them to keep working in the background, getting stuff done, setting the heroes up for success and ticker-tape parades, keys to various cities, and talk show appearances.
Just look at Short Round (adorable, capable kid from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), Goose (we’re talking Top Gun here – and Top Gun 2 is set for release this November, just saying…), Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess, R2D2, and to a much lesser degree, BB-8. All quintessential to the success of the mission, all fan favorites for what they bring. All best supporting actors. Well, not all acknowledged by the Academy, but we digress.
They accomplished so much – but much of the glory goes to Indiana Jones, Maverick, Xena and essentially Luke Skywalker. Which is fine by them.
Despite the fact these are fictional characters we wish were real so we could hang out with them, the same rule applies to tangible sidekicks like John Oats (of Hall and Oats fame) and Tenzing Norgay (the Sherpa who got Sir Edmund Hillary atop Mount Everest). See? Where are they now? Well, one tours with Daryl Hall, the other died in 1986. But that’s beside the point.
The point is, heroes need sidekicks. People need guides.
Here at Kelley Connect, we happily embrace the sidekick role. We want our partners to be the hero protagonists and get the props (just invite us to any ticker-tape parades). The perfect example is found within our Microsoft Office 365 services.
Microsoft Office 365 Consulting trains professionals behind the scenes to be superheroes with every available Microsoft subscription service – whether transitioning to a cloud-based software as a service environment or expanding an existing Microsoft Office product line – while also assisting with plan management, associated automatic updates and new product offerings.
Microsoft Office 365 Migration moves partners to the Cloud without missing a step so they can start work immediately and look all nonchalant while reaping the benefits of remote access from anywhere, agility, lower costs, and scalability.
Microsoft Office 365 Support means a partner representative with hours on the platform is there for the call when the unexpected happens. As in one call, without tension-riddled, long hold times or sweating through frustrating help forums. Protagonists just don’t have the time for that nonsense.
As much as we want to be an awesome, made-up sidekick like Short Round or Goose, we’re fine being Tenzing Norgay when it comes to solving our partners’ business problems. Actually, that’s pretty cool, go ahead and think of us as Digital Sherpas, bent on preparing the route and liaising with our partners to ensure business success.
Free consultation or quick question? Give us a call or send a lovely note, we’re happy to help.
